The two-time Olympic champion - and five times medalist - Robert Scheidt, took advantage of the week in São Paulo to train on the water surface where he started sailing, but hasn’t sailed for five years: the Guarapiranga Dam. Scheidt will competed the past weekend (Easter weekend for those who celebrate it) the Star Championship of the State of São Paulo (Campeonato Paulista), based at Yacht Club Santo Amaro (YCSA), alongside with European Champion Crew Arthur Lopes, Tutu. Among the main opponents is the pair of Yacht Club Paulista (YCP), Marcelo Bellotti and Maurício Bueno, current South American Champions, but one can never underestimate Torben Grael, racing here with his crew Guilherme de Almeida.

The two athletes of Yacht Club Santo Amaro (YCSA) won on Sunday (1/4) the Star State Championship in the Guarapiranga Reservoir, after three victories out of seven races. Among the 15 teams racing on the Guarapirannga Dam, Robert Scheidt and Arthur Lopes had a great fight against Torben Grael and Guilherme de Almeida (Madá) but they won with some margin. Third place for Alessandro Pascolato and Henry Boening (Maguila), very experienced Star sailors - Maglia has been sailing with Scheidt when not engaged with Pascolato.

The championship is worth 100 points in the SSL rankings and it attracted the Star sailors of the region as the Southern Hemisphere Championship is still a long way away..it will be in November (7-11) in Iate Club do Rio de Janeiro.
