Results for eight races on March 28 - April 1 at the Palma de Mallorca, Spain ISAF World Cup. It is still spring in the Med, and wind conditions for the second day of the 41st Trofeo S.A.R. Princesa Sofia Mapfre were anything but steady with 2-3 big, persistent shifts on each beat. A change in the weather is forecasted for Tuesday with thirty-five knot winds and eight foot waves. Strong winds and big waves caused long postponements ashore for most classes at the ISAF World Cup in Palma on Tuesday. The Race Committee cancelled Star racing at 15:00hrs. On March 31 the weather conditions divided the day in two halves. The morning began with NW wind, 15 knots and at around 2 pm, the wind dropped and all classes were postponed. Then the fleet could race again in the afternoon with W wind at 8 knots. Italy leads the Star fleet with team Negri Diego and Ferdinando Colaninno followed closely by Swiss sailors Flavio Marazzi and Enrico de Maria. Swedish Fredrik Loof and German sailor Alexander Schlonski are tied with equal points in third and fourth position. |
