2008 Dr. DAVID OURSLER Star Spring Championship

THE MILES RIVER YACHT CLUB

May 3 and 4, 2008

 

  1. RULES:  This regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the Racing Rules Of Sailing 2005-2008 (RRS), except as any of these is altered by this Notice, and the Sailing Instructions

 

  1. ELIGIBILITY: Only boats owned by members of recognized yacht clubs, and all members in good standing of an ISCYRA fleet are eligible. Boats must comply with their class association requirements.

 

  1. ENTRIES:  Advance receipt of entries on standard CBYRA entry forms is encouraged and it is recommended that entries be received by C.O.B May 1 at MRYC. Entries may be delivered at MRYC or mailed to MRYC, P.O.BOX 158, St. Michaels, Maryland 21663.

 

  1. REGISTRATION FEE:  $ 40.00

  1. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: Sailing Instructions will be provided at Registration. They may be posted at www.milesriveryc.org when available.

 

  1. RACING AREA: The Race Area will be the Miles River south of Red # 4 flasher (St Michaels Harbor Entrance). Race area changes may be made at the Skipper’s meeting.

 

  1. SCORING:  The low point scoring system of Appendix A (RRS) will apply.  One completed race constitutes a series. Each boat’s series score shall be the total of her race scores unless (5) five or more races are completed and then she may exclude her worst score.

 

 

 

 

9.      TROPHIES: Trophies will be awarded to the first, second, and third finishers plus a Novice trophy. The Series winner also is awarded the Dr. DAVID OURSLER MEMORIAL TROPHY.   The Awards ceremony is scheduled at 3:00 pm on Sunday following the racing.

 

10.  LAUNCHING AND BERTHING:  Lift launching is available.  Boat wash down/cleaning is permitted in the Club field only.

 

11.  SOCIAL:

·         BREAKFAST:  A continental breakfast will be served Saturday and Sunday and is included in the registration fee.  Regular Club Menu Breakfast service may be purchased on Sunday starting 08:30 hours. 

·         LUNCH: On the water bag lunches will be available for $ 7.00, BUT MUST BE ORDERED NO LATER THAN COB. THURSDAY, MAY 1. (410-745-9511)

·         DINNER:  Regular Club Menu Dinner service will be available from 5:30 to 9:00 pm on Saturday night. Competitors are requested to make their own reservations and all are encouraged to attend.

 8383. Please note that due to Talbot County zoning restrictions, overnight camping on MRYC grounds is illegal and will not be allowed.
