Announcements
The 2007 Star Class Logs were mailed to class members on April 5th.
Please allow two weeks for the Log to arrive in your mail.
The list
of 2007 championships can be found on the fixture list page
of the Star Class website calendar. Next are the Eastern
Hemispheres in El Arenal Mallorca, Spain this month (April
10-17) and the ISAF
Olympic Classes Worlds in Cascais, Portugal from
June
28-July 13..
For USA Star Sailors, there will be a Last
Chance Regatta to qualify for the US Olympic Trials in Los
Angeles in September.
Racing
Results
Two Star Class Silver Championships were sailed in late March/early
April. In Tampa, Florida, Fredrik Lööf and
Anders Ekström won
the North
American Championship (Lööf's 5th
continental championship title) and Gastão Brun
and Marco Lagoa won the South
American Championship at Mar del Plata, Argentina.
In
Italy, the
Expert Olympic Garda was won by Hamish Pepper and Brad Nichol
and the Spring
Championship for the Viareggio and PDV fleets was won by
Alessandro Lanfranchi and Alessandro Cinquini. In France, Graham Bailey
and Jean Nicolas Bondaletoff won the Minimee
Cup and Olivier Geodfroy/Jean Gabriel Charton won the Exalted
Grand Master Asteria Cup, both sailed in Nice.
In
Mallorca, Spain, the 38th
Trofeo Princesa
Sofia winners were Robert Scheidt and Bruno Prada. In
Switzerland, Kurt and Markus Scheiddeger won the Ski
Yachting competition.
In Hamburg, Germany, Michael Ilgenstein and Lutz Boguhn won the Fruehjahrs-Verbansregatta and
Essen's Spring
Trophy was won by Freider Kleine and Arndt Renner.
On the US west coast, Erik Lidicis and Michael Marzahl won the ABYC
Olympic Classes Regatta in California.
