Announcements
In late November, the Star Class lost two prominent members. Mary Etchells, the only woman to be a Star Class World Champion, died in Maryland, USA, and Mario Caprile, recipient of the class' highest award, the Harry Nye Trophy, passed away in Spain.

ISCYRA president Bill Allen announced at the class meeting at the North American Championship in Miami that John M. MacCausland is the 2006 recipient of the Harry Nye trophy. Allen and John Koopman have also provided an overview of the ISAF meeting in Finland in early November.

The 2006 ballot for class commodores and vice-commodores and one rules resolution can be downloaded from the website. Votes must be sent to the class office by Dec. 10th.

The list of 2007 championships can be found on the fixture list page of the website calendar. In March are both the South American (Mar del Plata, Argentina) and Western Hemisphere (Tampa, Florida, USA) Championships, followed in April by the Eastern Hemispheres in El Arenal Mallorca, Spain.
