Don't forget that the Star Class now has an online
database so members can update their membership and boat
information. To login, use the member's last name with the password being the member number. If you are a class member
and did not know your member number, please select the "Email Me my
Password" link on the database
entry page. You will be sent your password if you
have an email address on file in the Class Office. Otherwise, please
contact your Fleet Captain or
District Secretary who can update their members' information.
As a last resort, contact the class office to set up a new account.
The list
of 2007 championships can be found on the fixture list page
of the Star Class website calendar.This month are both the South
American (Mar del Plata, Argentina - March 19-25) and Western
Hemisphere (Tampa, Florida, USA - March 31 - April 5 )
Championships, followed in
April
by the Eastern
Hemispheres in El Arenal Mallorca, Spain on April 10-17.
The 2007 LOG is at the printers and will be mailed to members the end of March.
Racing
Results
Racing took place in February and early March in Monaco, Italy, Chile, Greece and the USA (Miami and Los Angeles).
In Italy, the Viareggio fleet's Trofeo
Angelo Ghirlandia was won by the two Alessandros - Lanfranchi and Cinquini.
In Monaco, Vasil Gureyev and Volodimir Korotkov won the XXIIIème
Primo Cup - Trophée Credit Suisse
and the Interclub Ski Yachting competition was won by Christoph
and Daniel Christian. And in Greece, Theodoros Tsoulfas and Iakovos
Loudaros won the Athens Eurolymp Week.
In Chile, Alejandro Chometowski from Buenos Aires won the Valparaiso Cup, and in Brazil, Lars Grael and Marcelo Jordao won the 63rd Regata Darke de Mattos and John King/Cristiana Solberg won the Regata Carlos Alberto de Brito. In the USA, two regattas took place in Miami with Augie Diaz and Federico Engelhard winning the Zag Master's Regatta and Hamish Pepper and David Giles winning the 80th Bacardi Cup. On the west coast, Will Stout won the Southern California Yachting Association Midwinters.
