Central Office - move complete

The ISCYRA office has been in transition over the past 9 months. Barbara Vosbury, after dedicating many years to the Star Class, decided to move toward a new career.  The CMC selected Sherri Campbell and Jerelyn Biehl of One Design Management, to transition the ISCYRA office beginning May 2016.  The office contents were moved to San Diego, CA and the pair have been busy familiarizing themselves with the Star Class management under the guidance of Executive Director Jon Vandermolen.  Both Sherri & Jerelyn have ties to the Star Class and are active sailors themselves.  Many of you have been in contact with the office by phone, email or in person – reach out anytime!  We appreciate your patience as the office gets up to speed and brings the Star Class management new efficiencies.

Communications

The Star Class will be ushering in a new website in the coming months as the current system is outdated and no longer supported. A new look that ties together class news, regatta management, membership management, membership rankings, e-communication and e-commerce will update our image and operating efficiency.  As the premier one design class in the world, it is important that our electronic image properly conveys our Class.  Look for these changes over the 2017 calendar year.

Legacy Foundation

The new website and ancillary products are being generously funded by the new Legacy Foundation.  Created by Star sailors, the Legacy Foundation will create an endowment and scholarships to help support the Star Class’ continued growth.  Look for additional information on the new website.

Star Class Ranking

All Star Class sailors will be entered into a new ranking system (skipper and crew). Both skipper and crew must be current members to be ranked. Pay Dues link   The rankings will cover the following fixtures:  all gold, silver, blue and green Star regattas as well as a few other notable events.  Look for more information to come. The season will begin January 1 and end December 31 each year.
