The Lake Sunapee Star Open Regatta was held August 4-6.
The weekend started with a cocktail party and dinner at John Chiarella's home. Time to relax and meet old and make new acquaintances.
Saturday brought early showers and light winds. the race committee was able to get one race started after an hour delay waiting for the wind to fill in. Race two was sailed in heavy rain. With thunderstorms imminent, racing was halted for the day.
Saturday evening all shared the renown steak dinner followed by a dynamic presentation by John MacCausland, of his sailing career and how he rose to become a World Champion.
The fleet got welcomed Sunday to strong winds and three races were completed with tactical battles going on throughout the fleet.
