Star Class Honoring the Past, Leading the Future
On Sunday 17th ofMarch, 7 Star took part of the Acciuga Cup. As usual the sun was shining in
Nice when the 7 boats crossed the starting line with a shifty wind of 6-8 knots
from east. On the first race Jean-Gabriel Charton and Jeff Puisségur had to
fight all race long against the talented estonian team Alar Volmer and Oliver
Reitalu and managed to take the lead on the last downwind followed in third by
the Orlando family from Monaco (Mario and Filippo) ! And the the two next races
was a kind of «copy/paste of the first one. With huge battle in the middle of
the fleet with each time 3 boats neck to neck on the finish line.
Finally the
result remains roughly the same for the 3 races and the podium was
Charton/Puisségur 1st / Volmer/Reitalu 2nd and Orlando/Orlando 3rd.
It was a very hot
regatta with a lot of strategy issues with tricky conditions and big fights
with fairplay and good vibes , what else George ?
