EVENT DESCRIPTION

The 2017 Detroit River Star Fleets Annual IceBreaker / Rollie Vortriede Memorial held this last Saturday and Sunday in shifty & challenging winds on Lake St. Clair. The weather cooperated with wind ranging from 4-8 kts and temperatures in the 70’s. Not your typical IceBreaker.

7 boats from 4 fleets participated. In the end, it was the 4th District 2017 Champion Jack Ricard taking the honors with his crew Sam Edie in 8037. The RVM Vortriede Memorial Trophy was awarded and we look forward to Jack returning next year to defend his title.
