The preliminary
entry list for the 2010
European Championship to be sailed June 5-13 at Viareggio,
Italy, shows 50 entries as of April 23. Deadline for entry is May 19.
Entry
is also available for the Eastern Hemisphere Championship
(September 8-12 at Hamburg, Germany).

In Miami, the Bacardi
Cup had 84 entries with Rick Merriman and Phil Trinter being
the best of the lot..
At Mallorca, Spain the ISAF
World Cup Princesa Sofia was won by Diego Negri and
Ferdinando Colaninno
Before the Western Hemisphere Championship in Nassau, the traditional Harry
Knowles Series was sailed with Rick Merriman and Phil
Trinter taking the trophy. The Silver Star Champions for the Western
Hemispheres are Richard Clarke and Tyler Bjorn. They provided
a regatta
report on the event, courtesy of the Canadian Yachting
Association.
The first race of the year in Germany, Fruhjahrsverbandsregatta
Alster, was won by Michael Ilgenstein and Tim Froeger. This
was followed by the Spring
Trophy (Uli Seidlitz Memorial) and the winners were Frank
Tusch and Sven Winkelmann. The Marinepool
Supercup belonged to Fritz Girr and Bernhard Schaefer and the
Kellersee
Star Cup was a second win for Michael Ilgenstein, this time
sailing with Philip Behn.
In Switzerland, Christoph Burger and Renato Marazzi won the Oster-Regatta
on the Lake of Thun and Werner Fritz won the Bodenseemeisterschaft
. Also sailed on the Bodensee, the Hammond
Perkin Trophy was won by Hubert Merkelbach and Gerrit Bartel.
In Italy, the Autunno
Inverno Salodiano regatta on Lake Garda was won by Roberto
Benamati. At Viareggio, the Coppa
di Pasqua winners were Nicola Celon and Edoardo Natucci. The PDV
Fleet Championship was won by Enrico Chieffi and Manlio Corsi
and Giulio Gatti / Ermes Costa were first boat at the Trofeo
Amici Dell'Europeo.
In Greece, the Athens
Eurolymp Week winners were Emilios Papathanasiou
and Pachomios Papastefanou.
At Nice, France, Jacques
Puissegur and Louis Enjalbert were the best at the Coupe
Filance .
On the USA's west coast in
California, Eric Doyle and Rick Peters won the ABYC
Olympic Classes and further north in Washington state, Derek
De Couteau and Linda Koran won the Black
Star Regatta. On the Chesapeake Bay of the east coast, Ben
Fransen and Andy Noel won the SSA
Spring Regatta and Eliot Oldak and Chris Hardin
took the Annapolis
Spring Regatta.
In Brasilia, Brazil after the 2010 World Championship, the Pre-Olympics
Brasil regatta winners were Robert Scheidt and Bruno Prada in
a tiebreaker with Torben Grael and Marcelo Ferreira. The IV
Taca Comandante Fernandes, also sailed at Brasilia, was won
by Lars Grael and Ronald Seifert. In Rio de Janeiro, Alessandro
Pascolato and Henry Boening won the Regata
Aniversario 90 Ano do ICRJ and Gastao Brun and
Gustavo Kunze won both the Torneio
Roberto Bueno and the Regata
Flotilha de Star.
