Championships coming up are the Eastern
Hemisphere Championship (entry
list) on June 1-8 in Split, Croatia,
followed closely by the 2008
European Championship (entry
list) on June 11-18 at Lake Balaton, Hungary.
2008 Qingdao Olympics
Several of the 16 teams preparing for the Olympics are writing about
their experiences. Iain Murray and Andrew Palfrey (AUS) have a website and John
Dane/Austin Sperry (USA) have an ongoing blog.

Results
At Seneca Lake, NY, USA, Rick Merriman and Phil Trinter won the Western
Hemisphere Championship in a tie breaker with Peter McChesney
and Shane Zwingelberg .
In Germany, Matthias
Miller and Manuel Voight won the Heinz
Nixdorf Pokal sailed on the Moehensee
and followed up with a win at the Young
Europeans Sailing Goldener Pfingstbusch in Kiel. At Malente,
Alexander Schlonski and Frithjof Kleen won the Kellersee
Star Cup. Michael Ilgenstein and Lutz Boguhn won the Hamburg Erich
F. Laeisz - Preis and Uli and Sabine Breuer were
first at the Ederkogge.
In Austria, at the Pfingstregatta sailed
on the Attersee, the winners of the regatta were Reinhard Schmidt and
Dirk Meissner while Michael Fischer and Adolf Luzlbauer earned the
Upper Austria championship title. Hans Spitzauer and Christian Nehammer
won the 45th
Int. Maibock Regatta sailed on the Chiemsee.
In the Netherlands. Chris Frijdal and Rob Edens won the Hemelvaartwedstrijden at
Loosdrecht and Flavio Marazzi and Enrico de Maria won the Delta
Lloyd Regatta at Medemblick.
In Switzerland, the Thun Jungfrau
Trophy winners were Kurt and Markus Scheidegger.
In Italy, the Campionato
di Flotta, sailed at Viareggio, was won by
Alessandro Lanfronchi/Alessandro Cinquini. At Livorno, Carlo Buzzi won
the 25th
Trofeo Accademia Navale and Vicenzo Locatelli and
Giuseppe Oggioni won the Trofeo
Bellanasco at Bellano. The winners of the Regata
Nazionale Numana were Silvio Santoni/LaPorta, and
Andrea and Alessandro Nevierov were first at the 23rd
Coppa Tito Nordio at Trieste.
In Finland, Joni Leeve and Jori Kaunisto won their season's opening
regatta, the Stickan
Wikstrom - Fin GP1. And in Sweden, the first regatta of the
year, GP
1 - Vårfyen at Kullavik, was won by Hans
Oskarsson/H.Lundgren.
In France, the Zob
El Bahr Rhum Bowl at Nice was taken by Andrea
Orlando and Alessandro Ciocchi and Jacques Puissegur /
Alessandro Zilioli won the 36eme
Ducs de Nemours at Annecy
In the USA on the Chesapeake Bay, Bob Bradford and Rowen Perkins won
the Oursler
Memorial at St. Michaels and Kevin McNeil / Arnis
Baltins took the Lippincott
Regatta at Annapolis. In Michigan, Tom Londrigan and
Steve Cutting won the Tulip
Tune-Up and on the west coast in Olympia,
Washington, Norm and Laura Smit won the Black
Star Regatta.
At Victoria in Canada, Tim Stamper/Sully won the VI
Star Springs.
