Class News

The Class Office has sent an important mailing to fleet secretaries regarding 2005 resolutions and officers. If you are interested in being a measurer for the Star Class, contact Hannes Gubler. The notice of race and entry form are available for the 2005 Star World Championship, Feb. 8-20 in Buenos Aires. The South American Championship, also in Buenos Aires, precedes the Worlds Jan 5-9.

Coming up: Oct. 2-3 brings the Commodore Dr. Lüer Preis 2004 at Lake Baldeney, Essen, Germany and the Swedish GP 7 at Oktoberpokalen. The Basler Läggerli Swiss GP, the last race of the Allianz Suisse Star Grand Prix, is Oct 9-10 as is the Larchmont Columbus Day Regatta, the MRYC Fall Star and Nice, France hosts the Upstart Cup Oct. 10. Berlin racing includes the Lawuse-Preis Oct 14-15 and the Senatspreis Oct. 16-17. The Pacific Coast Championship is at San Francisco Oct. 16-17 followed by Calvin Paige Oct. 23-24.

Guenter Tscheslock and Martin Ritsche won the Trophée du Léman on Lake Geneva, one of the 8 regattas of the Swiss Grand Prix Series, while Lars Kiewning/Markus Mehlen won the next regatta in the series at Zurich. In Canada, Rich Mundell and Matt Dilay took the Vancouver Island Championship and Fred Dill & Mike Wurm are the English Bay Champions.

Peter Cusick/Sergey Leonidov won the Bedford Pitcher on Long Island Sound. Tom Londrigan Jr & Chris Wallner were winners of the District 4 Fall Finale, and John MacCausland & Phil Trinter were top boat at the 53rd Oxford Fall Round-Up in Maryland, USA. Todd Gay/Jon Klerk won the J. Holt Thomas Memorial Regatta in Peoria, Illinois. Mats Johansson and Leif Moller took the GP5 - Nordön, part of the 7 regatta Swedish Grand Prix series. New district champions are Henrik Dannesboe and Ramis Fayzullin, 9th District.
