Comments: Kieler Woche 2009 (June 20 to June 28) will start with the Olympic boat classes and finish with the International classes in the second half of the week. The reason for this swap of the 2009 Kieler Woche schedule is the inclusion of the newly invented ISAF Sailing World Cup, thus offering the competitors in the Olympic classes better tune-up possibilities.

The Kieler Woche 2009 organisation is prepared for the arrival of several ambitious Olympic classes' competitors up from Wednesday, June 17 who will prepare and train for valuable ISAF Sailing World Cup points as well as the desirable Kieler Woche titles. The starting gun for the first race will be fired on all race courses at 11.00 am on Saturday, June 20. The Olympic Part of Kieler Woche 2009/ISAF World Sailing Cup will finish on Wednesday evening, June 24, after a total of 5 race days.
