This years Chili regatta on Seneca Lake, the home of the up coming Western Hemisphere Spring Championships, was a great week-end of sailing and of course eating wonderful homemade Chile on Sunday.

We had 20 boats from 6 different fleets all set to go on Saturday. This year the wind cooperated and out we went in a 15 to 20 southerly wind. It looked like it was going to be a battle between Brian Cramer of the new WLOC fleet and Kirk Reynolds. In the second race with Kirk close on the transom of Brian he caught a wave and rolled to weather, dipping the pole and we all know what came next, one broken mast. Just before the leeward mark the wind did a shut down and shifted 180 degrees, some were very happy and others, well, let's just say they were not as happy.

The wind settled in and we had a very nice 3rd race before returning to the dock for the night.

Sunday showed a repeat of Saturday and we sailed 2 really nice races. In the end it was Brian Cramer taking home the big trophy.
