2009 12th District Championship

The 2009 12th District Championship at Lake Sunapee were completed over three days in winds ranging from 6 to 12 knots. Arthur Anosov of the Seneca Lake Fleet was consistent for the whole regatta, winning 3 out of 5 for his first Blue Star. Brian Cramer from Hamilton, Ontario led the last race the first time around and held on to finish 2nd, just enough to secure series 2nd, one point ahead of IGC Chairman Rick Burgess in series 3rd. Brian takes the Masters honors, Rick the Grand Master, with International Secretary John Chiarella the Exaulted Grand Master. Tom White of Seneca wins the 1st Challenge trophy, Nat Cook of Sunapee the Vintage Yacht award, and Barb Cook of Sunapee the Leading Lady.

In the Green Star competition, Brian McKay of Toronto wins in a tie breaker over Duane Delfosse of Lake Sunapee. Tom Flinn from Lake Hopatcong, NJ takes the third place honors. Michele Tan, crew on the winning yacht, is the Leading Lady in the Green Star Fleet.

Next years event will be hosted by the Quebec Fleet.
