2009 Taca Fernandes

Lars Grael and Renato Moura won the 3rd edition of the regata Taça Fernandes. The event honors the sub-official Fernandes, considered an example of a sailor, patriot, educator and friend. Second was Cezar Castro and Henrique Moura and third were Admar Gonzaga and Alexandre Freitas.

Lars Grael also won the last two editions of the Cup Fernandes, in 2008 (with Renato Moura) and 2006 (with Rodrigo Tronche).

The race course went through one of the ends of Paranoá known as Varjão to exit and return to the Yacht Club of Brasília. The course of almost 12 nautical miles was covered in little more than two hours. "This gives an idea of the good wind that even with the rain provided a technical race, difficult and beautiful in the competition with 13 Stars," celebrated Lars Grael.

The Fernandes Cup Regatta was organized by the Yacht Club of Brasília, fleet Paranoá Class and Star of the Sea Scouts Group Sub Fernandes Bureau with support from the Federation of Brasilia and the Nautical Club Almirante Alexandrino.
