| Saturday’s conditions were light winds from the Northeast under mostly cloudy skies. One race was completed in a dying breeze with the whole fleet tightly grouped and drifting across the finish line. After a brief promise of a breeze, the remaining races were abandoned for the day. The sailors were greeted with light but consistent winds from the South on Sunday. The race committee wisely chose windward-leeward two-lap courses allowing four races to be sailed. There was a puzzling (at least to me) but consistent advantage in the last two races of staying to the right upwind and to the left downwind. The final results saw the travelers from the Central Long Island Sound fleet taking top honors. A genuine thanks to the race committee for keeping the pace moving and our out-of-town participants for attending. No, it’s not too cold in Annapolis this time of year so please mark your calendar for next year! |
