2011 4th District Blue Star

 
The 2011 4th District Championship was sailed on beautiful Gull Lake in southwestern Michigan. 19 sailors from great lakes region participated in the regatta. Conditions were varied from light and shifty to windy and shifty, but such is life on an inland lake. Jon VanderMolen and Kyle Wilhelm held of fellow V3 Racing teammates Jim VanderMolen and Jon Klerk to win the title. Jon and Kyle are the first sailors from Gull Lake to win the Blue star in the 75 year history of the fleet. VanderMolen gives all the credit to his PStar, Captain America.
