The 58th Nice Christmas regatta was a great edition. With 41 boats and 13 nations, and also 3 Silver star competitors from 3 different continents, Europe, North America and South America! It was the best attendance for ... 38 years!!! The conditions were just amazing, with champagne sailing! Sunny and windy!

On the first day two races were held, one in the morning and another one in the afternoon with a local thermic breeze from 8 to 12 knts. On the first race no surprises with the 3 Silver Star sailors in front - Diego first, Dino Pascolato second and Tomas Hornos Third.

On the second race the surprise came from Thomas Allart, a new talent from Netherland, who won the race after a fifth place in the first race. Pascolato crossed the finish line first but was unfortunately OCS which was the beginning of an unlucky regatta.

The second day was cold and windy. We left the dock with 6°C in a strong North thermic wind 20-22 knts. . Pascolato & Boening were leading when they broke their stear !!! what a shame for them after the OCS of the previous race...Once again the hierarchy was a bit "shaken" by challengers....Astorri/Vongher from Viareggio won the race followed by Diego and Sergio and our local fleet champions Orlando/Charton. On the second race of the day, the wind decreased suddenly and caused some damages for the half of the fleet who were not able to cross the line before the deadline time...Diego & Sergio had such a huge lead that it was tough to be on time!

The gala dinner offered by the club on the evening was awelcome to warm the hearts of all competitors with the Special Tombola sponsored by Club Nautique de Nice and Mr Dario Noseda from "ilProdiere.com".

On the last day the race comitee president Dominique Giorgi decided to held only one race. The last but not least for Dino Pascolato who finished his unlucky regatta with a bullet! Ouf !!! All the star sailors were back at 11am at the dock and were able to clean up their boat and enjoy the marvelous panoramic terrace of the Club Nautique de Nice, before the price giving!

This 58th Nice Christmas regatta was really a fantastic edition. Thanks to the professional organisation of Club Nautique de Nice, the support of Star Sailors League who provided the Live tracking 2D, but above all thanks to you star sailors and their relatives who love our Club and its location.
