| Green Star: Jack Londrigan Master's AWard - Greg Smith Conditions: Lake Springfield, an inland lake of Springfield, IL, USA; main sailing basin 1 ¼ miles NW-SE by 2 miles SW-NE . Friday, 8/15, Day 1: 70 - 81 degrees F. Overcast. Light easterly winds, 3-7 kts., shifty, inconsistently oscillating. Three races completed. Courses 3 & 4. Saturday, Day 2: 62 - 75 degrees F. Overcast. Moderate southerly winds backing, 5-13 kts., shifty, some hiking conditions. Light fog, mist and rain at times with a wind shift delay between races 5 & 6. Three races completed. Courses 3 & 4. Sunday, Day 3: 65 – 75 degrees F. Partly cloudy. Light northerly veering east, 4-8 kts., shifty. Two races completed. Course 3. Hearty thanks to Race Committee Principle Race Officer Sharon P. Hadsell, Annapolis, MD, and her RC team for a terrific regatta conducted in challenging conditions. Kudos, thanks and appreciation to World Championship Crew, Mark Strube for the superior Coaching and Tuning Clinic held on Thursday, 8/14, prior to the regatta. Much thanks to Big Bob and Rebecca and the staff of the Island Bay Yacht Club for preparing continental breakfasts and sack lunches for the sailors and for tapping cold beer after the races and for serving the Saturday night buffet. Most excellent Star Parties were held at the home of Tom and Betsy Londrigan on Friday evening and at the home of Jeff and Sue Cozzens prior to the lakefront buffet dinner at the Yacht Club on Saturday evening.
