From Friday 2 to Sunday 4 September 2016,15 Star boats from Germany and Denmark took to the waters of Lunkebugten outside Troense in Denmark to join the HRMC and The Danish National Championship. It’s in these waters the 2017 Star World Championship will be held.

The star boat-fever has already hit Denmark and more and more will sail star boat and participate in the worlds next year in Troense. For the Danish star sailors the Danish Nationals 2016 in Troense was also an opportunity to qualify over the Danish fleet to the worlds in 2017.

The weather and wind conditions were quite nice during the 3 days and the race committee managed efficient end professional to execute no less than 9 perfect races in 3 days. The wind direction change every day and that make it quite a challenge to find the right and fastest way around the course. A perfect opportunity to gather some local wind tips before Worlds in 2017.

GER 8491 with Ulrich Vater and Karsten Morf did the best job and ended wining the beautiful HRMC trophy with 19 points. DEN 8492 raced by Jorgen Svendsen and Crisser Jurlander ended second with 24 points and therefore got the title winning the Danish Nationals 2016. The 2 newest star teams from Hellerup Frank Berg/Martin Hejlsberg and Stefan/Magnus Elvstrøm Myalf (father and son) did a fine and promising job ending as number 5 and 8 total.
