September 16-18, 2016 the investment company, Canyon River, and the President of the Association STARCLASS RUSSIA Alexander Zybin, with the support of the Russian sailing Federation, jointly held the RED STAR CUP 2016, reviving traditions and the calendar of competition of the most titled class yacht "Star" in Russia.

RED STAR CUP 2016 is the first of the last many years as a competition of the class “Star”.

The wife of the legendary Star sailor Timir Pinegina – Galina Ilinichna Pinegina - personally attended the event and the award ceremony of the Regatta RED STAR CUP 2016 in order to help revive in Russia the tradition class yacht "Star". She told about the victories of her husband and showed the participants of the Regatta his Olympic gold medal.
