| Report by Robin Rogers: Despite a forecast for little to no wind on Saturday, we had a good breeze early which held for most of the three races run: between 10 - 15 knots dropping to maybe 5 as we finished the third race. Typical Finger Lakes wind with shore shifts and a bit fluky! Sunday was forecast to have better wind, but it dropped to nothing in the middle of the fourth race of the series, making it a frustrating race. The breeze came back at the last minute allowing most of the boats to finish. There was no fifth race as we were all becalmed until after 2:00. Saturday night we all enjoyed a banquet put on by the Ithaca yacht Club and Sunday we ended the regatta with awards and a bar-b-q. Eight boats raced, Arthur Anosov with crew Dave Caesar won the series, Mark Passmore and Larry Scott were second, Brian Cramer and John Finch; third, Brad Anderson and Doug Folsetter; fourth, and 5th; Richard and Richard Burgess. The series Master's award was won by Brian Cramer & John Finch. |
