2006 D5 Green Star

We held a one day Green Star at Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club in Newport Beach California. It was a great sailing day with 8 -12 knots from the northwest. The sun came out as the racing got under way at 12;45. The R/C did a fantastic job setting up a course just right for the small fleet. They even had on the water judging! We should consider holding the Blue Star there next year.

Bill Fields with Erik Lidecis crewing bested the fleet. Ralph Peck steering for the first time was second with Steve Brown crewing. Christel Gruenewald took home the third place trophy despite having her husband Rick Peters on board. Charles Heimler with his son Graham crewing won a race and finished fourth overall. Jorg Westerheide and Jim Alexander rounded out the fleet in fifth.

Thanks to all that participated, we missed Chuck Beek this year, hopefully he will have his house finished soon and will be able to go sailing again!
