New York State Championship

This past weekend 20 boats from 8 fleets sailed the New York State championships at Seneca Yacht Club in Seneca Lake, New York.

On Saturday the fleet sailed out onto Seneca Lake in a light south westerly wind. It was the intent to sail 3 races but the wind did not cooperate and allowed us to only have 2 races. Upon arriving back on the dock the fleet was treated to a Rum Punch party hosted by local Seneca club member Rob Eberling.

That night the fleet was invited to the home of Jan and Rick Burgess to what is becoming an annual event a steak dinner followed up with a fireworks extravaganza.

Sunday morning came and the fleet left the dock with hopes of sailing 3 races. The Race Committee was ready, the Competitors were ready, but much to our dismay the wind opted not to come.

After due consideration the Committee made the call and we were towed back to the club. As is always the case the beer keg was opened and hot dogs were cooked for all to enjoy. At the end of the day it was Kirk Reynolds and Dan White taking the event.
