Comments: The only ISAF-graded race in Switzerland attracts 40 to 60 boats normally. Lake of Thun with its 4000 m high mountains on its South end offers steady thermical winds from 8 to 20 kn: During my 20 years of Star sailing, there has never been a regatta weekend without at least one valid race. In the middle of the summer, the water temperature is over 20° C and the Thunersee Yacht Club offers one of the best facilities in Switzerland.

Important to mention, the weekend before this regatta, there is the famous Trofeo Lillia in Italy on Lake of Como, just 3-hours from Thun. Within 12 days you will have 6 days of perfect Star racing on accommodating lakes in summer temperatures with thermical winds starting to blow in the aftrenoon – a promising holiday-trip to central europe!
