| A beautiful Saturday of sailing on the Chesapeake Bay off of Gibson Island. Breezes were 6-9 knots ranging from SSE to Southerly. We raced two races on STCR Course 4 and one STCR Course 3 with one mile legs. Great party and meal Saturday evening at the Gibson Island Club. This made for a nice reunion for some of the older generation Star sailors. Names like Charlie Stein, Bob Dunigan, George Blome, Dick Schluederberg, Hank Strong, and Nancy Boykin. Sunday we awoke to rain, glorious rain. It did last most of the day. We sailed in the Magothy river and only got one race in before the wind dropped out to nothing and switch 180 to the NE. The "Blue Chip" award (a light blue Star half model) given by Dave Gaillard was received by John MacCausland for winning the last race of the series. |
