With two firsts and a 4th and a 5th Oberhofners Gregorini/Moser won the 7th running of the Basler Läggerli. With this win they also jumped into the top 10 in the aggregate score of the Allianz Suisse Star Grand Prix.

While on Saturday, in what for this time of the year was rather warm, two races were run in 1-2 beaufort west winds. On Sunday morning there was fog which made finding the marks rather difficult, but the beginning of rain cleared off the fog. The charged atmosphere which was attributed to Saturday night's thunderstorm led to some hot scenes and broken heads, especially at the mark roundings.

As this was the last series of the Star Grand Prix the 20 best placed teams sailed in the Baseler Läggerli to decide their ranking in the whole series, especially with regards to the prize money for the top 12 teams. Last year's winner and newly crowned German champion Hubert Merkelbach already has a lock on the series as the Grand Prix winner - with a OCS and a DNC his pride was tarnished a bit - but behind him there were some ranking changes. In particular the absent sailors Daniel Stegmeier, Philipp Rotermund, Urs Hunkeler and Jürg Ryffel lost some places in the ranking.
