Organized by the Club Nautico Olivos with the sponsorship of Bodegas LURTON, the Argentine Championship took place on the weekends of 25-26 March and 1-2 of April with 13 boats competing. The first weekend had very variable winds or varying intensity for the first 4 races. The first two were won by Fabian MacGowan and Valentin Thompson (favorites for the championship given the results of MacGowan at the MOCR and Bacardi Cup) followed closly by Zanetti/Rosas and Gianelli/Pereira. The second day of racing had stable winds from the NNE of about 10-12 knots. At the 1 pm start, MacGowan/Thompson had a breakdown making it possible for Zanetti/Rosas to win comfortably the first race of the day and Chometowski/Chernobilsky won the second race, ending up only 1 point behind for the weekend.

The following weekend had winds of 13 to 16 knots and pretty waves, ideal conditions for the Star. Three races completed the championship with the race winners being MacGowan/Thompson with Zanetti/Rosas in second and in third the father/son pair of Memo Calegari and Fede Calegari.

Even though MacGowan/Thompson won 5 of the 7 races, but because of their breakdown and the lack of national spare parts for repairs they did not get a podium spot. So Zanetti, the District Secretary and winner by points of the Championship, in a very noble gesture, decided to organize a new race to dispute this championship.

The first place trophy for boats under number 7000 was won by Juli
