Report by Heimo Schlagbauer:

The weather forecast for the season opener in Austria was so underwhelming that it probably had some sailors scared again. Is also funny at 25 degrees in summer sailing stuff for the next day wraps up and know it’s rather cool with 5-8 degrees, rain and snow can be expected on the mountains and in the sunny south. But actually it turned out much better than expected. No more rain at the start and a thoroughly enjoyable for the upbeat east wind. Only rarely sit in Lee and sometimes also hanging wind. From the middle of the second race single window sun and the third then already in full sunlight with a still cold, but quite challenging sailing conditions. The wind would also have been good for a fourth race, but were still quite a few participants after the long winter break with strong fatigue and so most were happy after three great races in daylight (at four races it was probably already dark) in the harbor. The event was sailed once again together with the Finn class and the race committee and the onshore team were well worked with the organizational effort, but as always in KYCK everything worked great. With an excellent breakfast and lots of delicious desserts, there was a nice get-together in the club. On Sunday, then no segelbarer wind and after sitting next to the race committee it was decided after a while to end the wait.

The victory went to the team Planine Maurizio / Semi Samuele Maria from Trieste before Schlagbauer Heimo / Hermione and Polanka Andreas / Ernst Maier.
