EVENT DESCRIPTION

GDAŃSK – Górki Zachodnie

Only 3 boats participated in Lotos Nordcup regatta 2021 in Gdańsk. That’s why, because of the regulations of Polish Yachting Association, the Polish Championships have not taken place.

Nevertheless, all crews had great pleasure to sail 3 days and run 9 races in different conditions. 

First day: shifty wind from East, 2-6 knots. After 3 races Modrzyński/Szydłowski were at the top of the results table. The second day welcomed sailors with the wind from the South (shore), speed: 16-22 knots. However, the race course was 3 miles from the coast so it was stable and warm. Four long races established Styborski/Sukow crew at the lead with a tie with Modrzyński/Szydłowski. During the last, third day the leaders finished two races at the first position and won the whole event.

The LOTOS Nord Cup regatta is one of the biggest regattas in Poland. Great venue of Gdańsk Bay on Baltic Sea, close neighbourhood to the historical city of Gdańsk, beautiful weather conditions and sandy beaches made these three days a great event for sailors.
