Star Class Honoring the Past, Leading the Future
The New York State Star Championship took place July 23-24,
2022 at Seneca Lake, Geneva, NY 12th District Seneca Star Fleet
host. There were 11 boats registered, 10 boats sailed, in what was said by Rick
Burgess at Skippers meeting to be, “Champagne Conditions” and he was spot on,
10-14 out of the south (180 degrees) and not one wind change. That being said 5
races on schedule, 4 races on Saturday and 1 race Sunday. Many old and new
faces sailed, especially Skipper Heather Kerns, master degree student at Hobart
and William Smith College, along side her as crew Aaron Tsuchitori, assistance

And, as usual, Saturday after sailing, the famous cook your
own Steak BBQ, with all the fixin’, many competitors asked about this years
Chili regatta, and much to our sadness said, Not this year, but next!
So look forward to the 2023 NYS Star Championship in July,
