EVENT DESCRIPTION

HANK ROWAN MEMORIAL LAKE GEORGE OPEN 2023

WELCOME STAR SAILORS and VOLUNTEERS

Here is the run down for the regatta. ALL sailors are plenty aware that boats MUST be washed before being put in Lake George. There will be a washing station towards the back of our parking lot all day Friday. A Lake George Steward will be at NLGYC Friday 1400-2000 to inspect/tag boats. Anyone wishing to launch earlier may go to an inspection station at one of the locations around the lake, locations attached below.

Sailors may dry-sail for the duration of this event.

Friday July 28:

• 1500-2000 - Registration open at Lake George
  • host families after dinner – you will be given their name, contact info and address before arriving to LG
• 1400-2000 - Lake George Steward to tag/inspect boats
• 1930 - Steak dinner donated VERY generously by Ginny Smith (Rowan), in memory of Hanks tradition in club house

Saturday July 29:

• 0800 - Breakfast
• 0955 - First Warning Signal
• Late lunch/early dinner (~1600-1700 - whenever we get off the water)
• 1800 - Flag Officers Reception (somewhat formal)

Sunday July 30:

• 0800 - Breakfast
• 0955 - First Warning Signal
• 1300 - No warning signal after this time
• Late Lunch (whenever were off the water) - burgers and dogs
• AWARDS!!!

• Norowal Marina in Bolton (south of yacht club off 9N)

• Rogers Rock (closest to yacht club, just north off 9N (in camp ground)
  • 9894 Lakeshore Drive, Hague, NY 12836

 

• Mossy Point in Ticonderoga
  • 158 Black Point Road, Ticonderoga, NY 12883
