Vintage Starboat Race Zürich 2024: Lucky 7
A record numer of entries – and more are invited to join! A total of 21 boats from 6 European nations have already registered for this already traditional “family” reunion – 7th in a row – of Vintage Starboats at Zurcher Yacht Club.
The family steadily grows: on August 29th – September 1st, the organisers look forward to welcome boats, besides a strong Swiss presence, from Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic. The most important criterion for participation is a wooden hull built to ISCYRA specifications. The age of participating boats ranges from the 1930’s up to present time, as new builds made from wood are allowed, too.
Traditionally equipped boats with wooden masts can be found side by side with freshly renovated, modernized Stars. There is no handicap for boat condition, sailing skills are decisive. A memorable social experience is guaranteed by the exceptional catering of Zurcher Yacht Club, as well as the comfortable atmosphere of the historically re-built, floating club house with a view of lake and mountains in front of the bustling city of Zurich.
Besides daily and overall prizes, a restoration award is given to honor special contributions and commitment to the preservation of these exceptional race machines.
The three days end of August are a highlight for the “family”, and so the call goes out again in 2024:
