Altolaguirre brothers claim Argentine Star Class title in Olivos
The Argentine Star Class Championship concluded after two competitive weekends (April 11–12 and 18–19), hosted by Club Náutico San Isidro, delivering a high-quality regatta marked by varied conditions and a diverse fleet.
A total of 21 teams competed, ranging from experienced Exalted Grand Masters to three emerging Under 30 crews, along with a mixed team—highlighting the class’s strong generational depth.
The opening weekend featured light and tactical conditions, allowing five races to be completed (three on Saturday and two on Sunday). Competitors were also welcomed ashore with a social gathering hosted by the club.
Racing intensified over the second weekend, with the fleet completing a full eight-race series to decide the championship. Lucas and Leandro Altolaguirre delivered a standout performance throughout the event, securing a decisive overall victory.
Second place went to the Longarela brothers, while an impressive all–Under 30 crew, Lucas Mones Ruiz and Paolo Ferruco, completed the podium with a strong performance against more experienced teams.
The event reaffirmed the strength and continuity of the Star Class in Argentina, blending seasoned sailors with a new generation of competitive talent.
