The elimination series was scheduled as 11 races over 5 weekends with the best 6 races being scored. Due to a very windy spring, only 7 races could be held and the rest had to be abandoned. On June 1st Race 1 saw winds in the 18-22 kt range and in race 2 the winds exceeded 25 kts with gusts recorded as high as 45 kts. Steve Braverman dominated the day with two firsts, but broke his mast after racing had completed. On June 15th, Race 3 saw winds of 20-25 kts. Racing was close with Ken Woods just edging our Franny Charles. June 29th had the lightest winds of 5 to 9 kts. Racing was held on Broad Sound. Gary MacDonald and Howard Davis ruled the day with a 2 & 1. Ken Luczinski and Jason Maher (in 6328( proved that old boats are still fast by tying with Franny Charles and Corey Baker for the second for the day. On July 5th, winds were from the NW with shifts up to 50 degrees. Wind strength 8-14kts. The day was mainly a battle between Gary MacDonald/Howard Davis and Steve Braverman/Ron Rezac for the series with the other boats hanging in there for the ride. Plenty of place swapping throughout the fleet due to the shifts.
