Star Class Honoring the Past, Leading the Future
Due to a variety of complicating factors, the Nassau Yacht Club will no longer be able to host the 2020 Star World Championships on January 31-February 8, 2020.
As a consequence, ISCYRA will move and reschedule the 2020 Star World Championships from Nassau, Bahamas to Miami, Florida. The exact dates will be announced shortly but the event will be in the month of November 2020.
Nassau and the Nassau Yacht Club is to be commended for taking measures to uphold their commitment to host our annual Championships. Hurricane Dorian’s impact on the region and effect on supporting logistics have made sponsorship, shipping, and other factors difficult, if not impossible, to overcome. These unforeseen events and their ramifications have undermined the host’s ability to uphold its contractual obligation with ISCYRA and our members.
We wish to thank the Coral Reef Yacht Club, in Miami, Florida for the efforts to accommodate these circumstances and we all look forward to the event next fall.
