April 30, 2024

MUIDEN, Holland – May 10th to 12th, 2024 marks the eagerly anticipated Dutch + U30 District Championships, a highlight on the calendar for the International Star Class, the world's eldest one-design sailing class. This event, part of the esteemed BIG(3) Series, embodies tradition, competition, and camaraderie on the waters of Muiden, Holland.

Established by and for the International Star Class, the BIG(3) Series comprises three top-tier events across Europe, spanning the North, Mid, and South regions. Held alongside the Star Class Worlds and Continental Championships, these events are a testament to the enduring legacy of the Star Class in the sailing world.

Organized by a coalition of regional fleets, the BIG(3) Series brings together the energies, budgets, and traditions of diverse sailing communities for a common purpose – a Full-Power-Top-Event. With top-notch race management, a distinguished jury, lively parties, surprising moments, and engaging activities, the BIG(3) Series is rightly hailed as "Tradition on Tour."

During the event, sailors from various nationalities, including the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Czech Republic, Austria, and Denmark, will showcase their skills on the water. The competition will feature 14 U30 teams among the 40 entries, drawing spectators, relatives, and a professional social media team to capture the excitement.

The U30 program, represented by the Under 30 ticket, aims to lower barriers for young people to participate in Star Class sailing regattas, welcoming new audiences to the sport. By fostering youth engagement, the U30 program contributes to the growth of the Star Class and its image, nurturing the next generation of sailing enthusiasts.

Adding to the anticipation, the event will see the participation of the WORLD CHAMPIONS 2023, adding an extra layer of prestige and excitement to the competition.

Located at the Royal Yacht Club Muiden in the Amsterdam area, the setting provides a picturesque backdrop for the thrilling races and vibrant social events. Comradeship and fun are on the agenda, as Star sailors, sponsors, sports media, and guests come together to share experiences and celebrate the spirit of sailing.

As the BIG(3) Series continues to unite sailing communities across Europe, it reaffirms the timeless appeal and enduring legacy of the International Star Class, solidifying its position as a cornerstone of the sailing world.
