At the world championship, I made a mistake. I asked to move the body weight scale inside rather than continue with the body weight measurement outside. Our measurer did not want me to move it inside. This was not my job and I should not have interfered. It doesn’t matter that we routinely conduct measurement inside and usually at registration. It wasn’t my job, it was our chief measurers job, it was his decision. My action has since snowballed into a lot of consternation amongst our members. I am sorry to have created this distraction. I love this boat and this Class and while I thought I was helping the situation, I wasn’t. It was never my intention to cause grief. We have a lot of challenges ahead and dwelling on my mistake is not a good use of anyone’s time and effort. We have to focus on growing our class and there is much to do. We will have a surplus in our budget this year and in the past two years we have seen growth particularly with our U-30 sailors and we must continue these trends. I will not serve as impediment to these goals and hereby resign my post.
