Remembering Antonio Tamburini

Human Interest ISCYRA District 14 - Author: Cicio Canali & Davide Leardini - May 22, 2019

For decades we have shored regattas, laughs and happy times.

He was a true friend, always ready to host whoever passed trough Florence or Sardinia, always treating you as a Prince and making you feel at home. Even if you arrived without notice. He was also a trustworthy friend who would always be happy to help, if you were in need.

Instead when it was time to talk seriously his profound culture and knowledge was outstanding, together with his refined taste and passion for classical literature and philosophy acquired during his University years. And for this reason we would like to remember him with the first verse of Sant’Agostino’s prayer: “ Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room”

And in the room he stayed until recently he found Renzo, his long friend and crew. Who was always there for him when he needed a mother to yell at him if needed; a brother to support, and a guardian Angel to push away the fear till the very end. Thank you Renzo for having been all of us.

Dear Antonio, we are sure that form beyond you will find fresh breeze, the fresh breeze that you have always looked for in your regattas.
