Remembering Charles F. Kohlerman III

Human Interest April 16, 2019

With fond memories of a life well lived, we mourn the passing of Charles F. Kohlerman III, 81, who died April 14, 2019.

Charles will be remembered by those of us in the Star Class as a fun-loving, cheerful, helpful person who truly enjoyed racing Stars with his son, Charles (Chuck) F. Kohlerman IV. Everyone who knew Charles knew that he was not only sailing with his son, but also with his best friend. They had a very close bond.

Charles was a member of the Star Class sailing out of the Harve De Grace Yacht Club of the Chesapeake Bay Fleet, Maryland. With his son, he raced Wednesday evenings, first in 7162 and later in 7964. He also raced for years in Miami in the winter regattas and will be fondly remembered on the water and in the bar, laughing and enjoying himself.

Charles was the owner and pharmacist of Kohlerman’s Pharmacy since 1966 in Malvern, PA. His son, Chuck, has followed in his father’s footsteps and is not only a pharmacist at the family pharmacy, but also races Star boats with his sons Ian and Aiden.

Charles leaves his wife of 58 years, Rebecca; his son, Charles IV; his daughter, Vickie; four grandchildren, Ian, Aiden, Becca, and Christopher; a great-granddaughter, Amy; and many other family members and close friends.
