Star Class Honoring the Past, Leading the Future
The Star Class is sad to learn of the passing of John Robinson, Life member, Feb 6, 2023. John Kenneth "Robbie" Robinson was 81.
Robbie was a past Commodore of Mobile Bay Yacht Club and a man of many intellectual interests - as his son Ken commented, "...when he got involvedin something he became 100% involved." Ken raced with his father and although Robbie only raced for about 15 years, he participated in 3 Star Worlds and around 10 Silver Star events. He made a few trips to the Bacardi Cup. His love of sailing transferred into work as the family company began making and selling race marks and have continued to do so for over 40 years.
He owned 4 Stars: 5388, 5751, 6116 and 6107.
