With great sadness and respect we must inform of the passing of Manfred Meyer. From the very beginnings, Manfred was a defining figure in developing Star sailing in southern Germany, specifically also during the beginnings of the Starnbergersee Fleet. For instance, Josef Pankofer, an experienced star sailor, took him under his wing and introduced Manfred to Star sailing and the racing scene, which he continued to participate in until his passing.

Manfred became a passionate Star sailor and sailed numerous international regattas. He sailed the World Championships in Caracas, San Francisco, Vilamoura and Capri and left a lasting impression at every venue. With his tireless commitment and sporting ability, he earned an excellent reputation in the sailing world.
