Sailing in District 1 with the Narragansett Bay Fleet, he competed in fleet, district, national, hemisphere, masters, and world championship events, as well as the Winter Series and Bacardi Cup regattas. Upon his professional retirement, he returned to Racine, WI, where in 1994 he joined the reactivated WLM Fleet and remained active in the Yacht Club and the Western Lake Michigan Fleet, and in district regattas, the Winter Series and Bacardi Cup events. Tony was an instrumental supporter of the Western Lake Michigan Star Fleet.  Many of Tonys star boats have remained with the fleet helping it to grow and remain strong. Tony was also a tremendous mentor to all the young sailors and did many WLM fleet races with his children and grandchildren. In September, he won his final Wednesday Night Series race with granddaughter Morgan as his crew.
