Star Class Honoring the Past, Leading the Future
16 Stars gathered from the 12th, 2nd, 4th and 1st Districts to par take in the 12th Districts and the New York State Championship. Racing took place Saturday (2 races) and Sunday (3 races) in very light south breeze both days. Each race time was roughly one hour. At the end of day Saturday the social event of cook your own Steak along with salt potatoes and green salad. Races started early Sunday in an effort to use any and all available winds, 7:30 harbor gun sent the fleet to race course, boat returned to dock by 1:00pm.
The 12th District crowned both a new Green Star (Paul Owns) and Blue Star (Quinton Gallon) Champion, and Also, Quinton won Leading Youth at age 24, not too bad for only two years in the Star boat!
